Job description

Salary: Starting 125k year

The Engineering Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing processes within TPS. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering activities within the facility, ensuring that products are produced to meet quality standards, production schedules, and cost objectives. The Engineering Manager collaborates with various departments to improve manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role manages programs from initial inception through production to the mutual satisfaction of TPS and the end user. This requires close liaison with the customer and internal resources as well as keeping accurate documentation of situations as they arise. Review data supplied by the customer or sales and determine its completeness for quotation, obtain quotes for tooling and fixturing, accurately estimate the cost for manufacture and appropriate profit margins. Coordinate the smooth transition of new product introduction from design concept through production.


Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's success and professional growth.
  2. Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, production, and quality assurance, to develop and implement new products or processes.
  4. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.
  5. Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly work environment.
  6. Manage and oversee the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and automation systems to enhance manufacturing capabilities and efficiency.
  7. Develop and manage to ensure optimal allocation of resources and cost control.
  8. Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshoot problems, and optimize production output.
  9. Understand and apply ISO 13485 Clauses( 4.2.2, 4.2.3, 4.2.4, 4.2.5, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.5, 7.6, 8.2.1, 8.2.2, 8.2.3, 8.2.4, 8.2.5, 8.2.6, 8.3, 8.4, 8.5.1, 8.5.2, 8.5.3) to applicable role responsibilities.
  10. Understand and apply AS9100 Clauses to applicable role responsibilities.
  11. Understand and apply ISO 14001 Clauses to applicable role responsibilities.
  12. Follow requirements of ISO standards to maintain and improve the Quality Management System.
  13. ISO 13485 Process Owner of Customer Related Processes (7.2) and Design & Development (7.3)

Work Experience

Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools, Knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO standards.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and metrics to drive process improvements and optimization.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time, work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items, to walk short distances.
