JRC is seeking a Systems Engineer / Combat Systems Integrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in Dahlgren, VA. The selected candidate will provide advanced systems engineering and integration support for Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) combat systems, contributing to the development, integration, testing, and sustainment of mission-critical capabilities across Navy and MDA platforms supporting the Next Generation Missile Defense (NGMD)development/deployment. This role directly supports system-of-systems engineering efforts involving sensors, weapons, fire control, and command and control systems within the Aegis BMD architecture.
What You'll Do
  • Perform requirements analysis, allocation, and traceability for Aegis BMD capabilities.
  • Support system architecture development using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies (e.g., SysML).
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications and interface definitions.
  • Integrate combat system elements including radar, weapons, command and control (C2), and communication systems.
  • Support system-of-systems integration across Aegis platforms (shipboard and Aegis Ashore).
  • Conduct interface analysis and support Interface Control Document (ICD) development.
  • Support planning, execution, and analysis of developmental and operational test events.
  • Participate in lab-based, ground-based, and at-sea test events.
  • Analyze system performance data and provide technical assessments and recommendations.

What You Bring
  • A bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, or related discipline).
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering, combat systems integration, or defense-related programs.
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance (required).:
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Aegis BMD and/or Aegis Weapon System programs.
  • Experience with system-of-systems integration across sensors, weapons, and C2 systems.
  • Familiarity with missile defense engagement sequences and fire control processes.
  • Experience supporting test and evaluation (T&E) activities and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of DoD systems engineering lifecycle and acquisition processes.
