Job Responsibilities

Position Summary: The Process Engineer is responsible for defining, optimizing, and owning manufacturing processes for Engineered Systems and Build to Print (BTP) products. This role provides technical and operational support in process planning, capacity management, cost control, and continuous improvement to ensure on time delivery, quality performance, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
The Process Engineer serves as a technical specialist and leads complex projects with significant business impact. 
Key Responsibilities

Process Engineering & Manufacturing Execution
   Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing routings and processing plans that define the sequential steps required to produce Engineered Systems and BTP products.
   Analyze engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure manufacturability and alignment with customer requirements.
   Define tooling, fixtures, machines, equipment, and labor requirements necessary to execute manufacturing plans.
   Establish standard lead times and capacity assumptions to support accurate scheduling and delivery commitments.
   Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and coordinate with Purchasing to ensure correct material planning and availability.

Planning, Scheduling & Capacity Management
   Serve as a key stakeholder in the planning and execution of all Engineered Systems and Build to Print work.
   Act as the production planning liaison within project teams, coordinating with supervision, machine builders, toolmakers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure schedules are met.
   Maintain machine shop scheduling and capacity planning models for Engineered Systems and BTP.
   Analyze Make/Buy decisions and recommend optimal manufacturing strategies.
   Enter and manage jobs within ERP systems and support schedule adjustments as required.

Cost Control & NCR Management
   Monitor and manage budget adjustments related to schedules, material, and resource changes.
   Own and resolve non conformances (NCRs) related to schedule revisions, budget impacts, and material ordering.
   Interface with suppliers to ensure order fulfillment, delivery performance, and quality compliance.


Leadership & Continuous Improvement
   Lead complex manufacturing projects and cross functional problem solving efforts, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
   Establish and promote process standards and best practices to drive consistency and efficiency.
   Support the development of staff by providing technical guidance, training, and ongoing coaching.
   Recommend process, system, and organizational improvements to management to support continuous improvement objectives.

Systems Ownership & Metrics
   Serve as the business owner for manufacturing related systems, including Epicor, Engineering Release processes, and related tools.
   Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor performance metrics such as on time delivery, capacity utilization, cost performance, and quality.
   Track and analyze metrics within areas of influence and use data to drive improvement efforts.

Quality, Safety & Compliance
   Maintain responsibility for ISO, QMS, AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 requirements within areas of responsibility, including vendor supplied products.
   Actively support Company quality objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
   Understand and comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and training requirements.
   Promote safe work practices and immediately address or report safety concerns.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications
   Bachelor's degree in engineering or manufacturing related discipline preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
   Minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, production planning, or related roles; seven (7) or more years preferred.
   Demonstrated experience leading complex projects or influencing cross functional teams.
   Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and production systems.
   Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
   Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
   Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office tools and ERP systems; reporting and data analysis experience preferred.
