We are looking for a Corporate Development Associate who is passionate about driving impactful growth through M&A, capital markets and strategic projects.
As a Corporate Development Associate at DigitalOcean, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to revolutionizing cloud computing and AI. This role reports to the Corporate Development Director. and will primarily focus on supporting our M&A sourcing and execution efforts.
What You'll Do:
  • Identify and research potential acquisition targets in line with our company's strategic goals
  • Assist in developing business cases and financial analyses for potential acquisitions, strategic investments, and new organic initiatives, including scenario modeling for capital allocation decisions
  • Conduct comprehensive industry research and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Perform financial modeling and valuation analysis for M&A opportunities, including DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions
  • Assist in due diligence processes, analyzing financial, legal, and operational data
  • Support the preparation of investment memoranda, term sheets, and other deal-related documents
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive M&A, capital markets initiatives and strategic projects
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of our deal pipeline and internal M&A target reporting
  • Assist in post-merger integration planning and execution
  • Provide strategic finance support, including financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting
What You'll Add to DigitalOcean:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in investment banking, with a focus on M&A transactions
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of the software, AI, and broader technology ecosystem is preferred
  • Final candidates will be required to complete a case study analysis during the final rounds
Compensation Range:
  • $110,000 - $134,000
