About the Role:
Join THREE PHASE as a Process Controls Engineer in the Dallas/Ft. Worth or Austin, TX, where innovation meets excellence! In this exciting role, you will be at the forefront of optimizing control systems and enhancing operational efficiency in a dynamic environment. 

The Controls Engineer is a mid-to-senior level position at Three Phase. Our projects typically involve the development of solutions using a variety of automation technologies and platforms. These technologies are deployed for the control of automated industrial process in data centers, water/wastewater, central plants, power plants, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, and chemical processing. You will be developing custom PLC/HMI assignments that include HMI design/development and PLC controls system design and development for projects of varying size and complexity. Our ideal Engineer will have strong experience with a mix of PLCs, databases and/or other machine vision platforms. 

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement client/server software for standalone client systems based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Work with clients to define user, network and data interfaces and create specifications.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Commission new solutions on client sites; finding opportunities for improvements.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis on control system issues.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports for system modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Provide training and support to operational staff on control systems.
  • Work with sales team members to provide input during quote preparation.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in process controls or automation engineering.
  • Proficient in PLC programming and HMI development experience on multiple different platforms.
  • Experienced in control systems integration project lifecycle and the application of the following: electrical design, PLC ladder logic & HMI development, and commissioning. 
  • Understanding of networking including: ethernet, Modbus, BACnet and other industrial protocols. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ISA and IEC.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Travel Requirements:
  • Typical travel for this position is ~30-40% within the United States. PLC and HMI programming is developed remotely. The Process Controls Engineer will be required to travel for project site visits, PLC/HMI installation, start-up, commissioning and training services.
