Job Description
DUTIES: Procures and launches new and major programs for controls engineering. Maintains working contacts with vendors, GM IT, other internal engineering disciplines, and management at plant and headquarters. Diagnoses and corrects deficiencies in manufacturing processes. Stays abreast of new controls technology, including robotics, computer graphics, and computer controls (CNC, PLC, PC, HMI, networks). Supports deployment of new technology to minimize risks. Evaluates manufacturing processes and equipment. Performs simultaneous engineering activities with ME and equipment supplier representatives. Supports the development of ME error proofing plans. Participates in safety g-Risk activities with cross functional group. Supports approval controls drawings and conducts controls run-offs at OEM site. Solves and assists operational problems. Supports and actively interacts with manufacturing operations group. Supports deployment of best common systems and methods as defined in the PT Global Controls Bill of Process. Continuously improves quality, cost, responsiveness, and safety. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 Days In-Office, 2 Days Remote - Must be able to report to local office.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field and One (1) year of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Engineering Lead, Process Controls Engineer, or related role One (1) year of experience with: Process engineering; Rockwell Automation, Siemens PLC, and HMIs; Improving manufacturing output; Cognex and Matrox Vision system programming; Allen Bradley factory automation equipment; Scheduling preventative maintenance for manufacturing line equipment; and AutoCAD. Experience with: Fanuc robot programming.
