The Opportunity

Our location in Abbott Park, IL or Willis Tower currently has an opportunity for a Project/Program Privacy Manager. You will be responsible for the cross-functional management and technical implementation of privacy programs compliance within the Global Privacy Office and across Abbott divisions. Additionally, you will be project managing privacy program and processes working closely with cross functional teams to establish and implement privacy by design, while ensuring compliance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work closely with Data Protection Officers and collaborate with Business Relationship Mangers (BRM) prioritizing Privacy projects against cost and capacity.
  • Lead multiple projects implementations simultaneously for Global Privacy Office cross multiple divisions and geographies utilizing Agile methodology.
  • Help manage and execute strategic roadmap for implementation of new privacy requirements to comply with new laws and improve processes for existing privacy programs (GDPR, CCPA).
  • Lead or represent privacy compliance interests in cross-functional meetings.
  • Identify areas of potential privacy risks with solution-oriented goals.
  • Identify, catalogue and monitor requirements for reports, meetings, communications, decision and analysis throughout projects.
  • Maintain a contract activity (schedule of dates for milestones, key deliverables, meetings, communication, reports and invoice delivery).
  • Manage key strategic Data Privacy projects on its own: interact with relevant stakeholders to define requirements and limitations, prepare and align business requirements, defines appropriate solutions/architecture with IT team, prepare project plans, perform all necessary project / change management activities to ensure assigned projects are delivered on time and budget.
  • Regularly presents to management the success on projects and Data Privacy Program initiatives, as well as escalates, explains, and most importantly offers solutions when risks/issues to projects are causing failure or inability to complete on time or budget.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree required in Business Management, Project Management, Legal or Computer Science and certification related to Information Privacy preferred; Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Minimum 5 years of work experiences in information privacy, compliance or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within a matrixed corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of privacy risk, controls, and relevant industry data sources.
