Job description

Job Summary:

The internship manager engages with interns through culturally responsive, person-centered, and strengths-based support. They are responsible for supporting in developing a plan to ensure each intern will have thorough training and proper onboarding. The Internship Manager will draw from their behavioral health experience to assess, implement, and evaluate best practices to enhance intern performance/experience and academic outcomes. The internship manager works in concert with all intern’s clinical supervisors and School Based Manger to ensure quality services are being provided. They will assist IHT/OP Director in securing external speakers/ trainers as needed. The Internship Manager develops learning contracts and objectives, collaborating with academic advisors and field placement managers to ensure learning goals are met and hours are obtained throughout the internship process and will collaborate with BHD programs to in providing supervision to interns to strengthen their clinical lens. The Internship Manager will sustain, create, and adapt modules for training and professional development for BHD interns. The Internship Manager will support the with field instruction, resource education and guidance for best practices and strategies to maximize interns’ experience. The internship manager oversees the internship process for the academic year from candidate interview to internship completion.


Essential Functions:

  • Facilitate internship meeting twice a week
  • Support with navigating and coordinating licensed supervision completion, maintain log of field contact, document supervision and engagement in group supervision,
  • Develop and facilitate learning curriculum during weekly group supervision, provide weekly administrative supervision, approve engagement notes, CANS assessments, treatment plans, safety plans, provide feedback on clinical documentation, complete process recording feedback as needed, and complete evaluations as needed.
  • Facilitate group supervision
  • Meet with School Based Manager and other intern supports regarding current training needs and concerns.
  • Develop the intern structure.
  • Execute and secure new College/University partners
  • Participate and come prepared to weekly supervision and staff meetings.
  • Attend necessary trainings.
  • Deliver all services in a professional manner, ensuring privacy and safety.
  • Work as part of a team to promote the goals of the agency, including the organization's work to strengthen families and provide trauma-informed care.

General:

  • Must comply with all regulations
  • Ability to respect and communicate effectively with co-workers and managers
  • Adheres to agency and departmental regulations, policies and procedures
  • Mandatory reporter of actual and suspected abuse and knowledgeable of agency mandatory reporting practices regarding any suspected cases of abuse, mistreatment, or neglect


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must be Massachusetts CANS certified.
  • Must be a master’s level clinician with training experience; independent license strongly preferred
  • Must have supervisory experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license without restrictions and have reliable transportation.
  • Good judgment and the ability to maintain effective boundaries when interacting with all members of the staff and community at large
  • This position requires the individual to work with minimum supervision. It also requires the ability to interact with a variety of individuals and the ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to reason effectively and interpret a variety of instructions, written or oral
  • Must have excellent organizational, writing and communication skills
  • Must have a clear CORI.
  • Must not have any disciplinary actions against license.
  • Must provide three references (at least two from a comparable professional setting)
  • Experience in behavioral health leadership in community-based settings.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position demands good mental and physical health and must be able to move continuously during work hours.
