Description

As a Web Developer Intern, you will work alongside our Senior Web Developer on a variety of projects that span across WordPress development, PHP scripting. This role is designed for a motivated individual eager to gain hands-on experience in front-end web development and enhance their technical skills in a real-world environment.

RESPONSIBILITIESWordPress Development
  • Assist in building and maintaining WordPress websites, ensuring responsive design and optimal user experience.
  • Support the customization and development of WordPress themes and plugins using PHP and JavaScript.
  • Participate in the creation and integration of web forms, content updates, and site enhancements.
  • Introduction to responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
Backend and API Development
  • Help manage and optimize MySQL databases for data storage and retrieval in WordPress applications.
  • Support the integration of third-party services and APIs to enhance site functionality and user experience.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring smooth website performance.
Learning and Development
  • Engage in learning new programming languages and technologies, with a focus on WordPress, HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP,
  • Participate in code reviews, team workshops, and collaborative projects to develop a deeper understanding of web development.

Requirements

SOFT SKILLS
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
  • Good communication skills for effective collaboration with the development team.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges and technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or relevant coursework in server-side development).
  • Familiarity with backend programming languages such as PHP or SQL.
  • Interest in learning about server-side software engineering, databases, and API development.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus but not required.
