Position Purpose

The Print Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production and budget management of all printed marketing materials, including in-store signage, forms, handouts, and direct mail. This role ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget by partnering with Brand Managers, Creative Traffic Coordinators, and external vendors. 

The Print Production Manager leads both internal print shop operations and external vendor relationships, balancing resources across multiple brands. This position requires strong project management capabilities, technical expertise in print production, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. 

What You'll Do & How You'll Make a Difference 

  1. Print Production & Project Management 

  • Oversee all print requests through the project management system in partnership with the Traffic team
  • Ensure all incoming requests include accurate descriptions and clearly defined business needs
  • Attend regular status meetings with Creative teams to review open projects and resolve issues
  • Plan and schedule projects to maximize internal resources and meet deadlines
  • Develop print estimates and obtain vendor quotes to manage costs and identify savings opportunities
  • Review final files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with print specifications
  • Participate in proofing processes and recommend cost-saving or quality improvements
  • Partner with Brand Managers to address timeline or production challenges 
  1. Print Shop Operations & Execution

  • Oversee daily operations of print and sign shop teams across operating companies
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures to ensure efficient project execution within budget
  • Align team workload with production capacity to meet delivery timelines
  • Partner with internal teams and distribution centers to support timely delivery of materials
  • Establish and maintain standards for print shop operations, maintenance, and quality 
  1. Vendor Management, Budgeting & Continuous Improvement

  • Manage external print vendors, including bid processes and performance expectations
  • Determine which projects should be outsourced based on business needs and guidelines
  • Develop specifications for print bids, including materials and production requirements
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Oversee billing, reconciliation, and budget tracking for all print jobs
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through vendor selection, material sourcing, and order consolidation
  • Oversee ordering and inventory of paper, supplies, and print materials
  • Maintain systems for store supply ordering and ensure timely fulfillment of requests
  • Provide updates to stakeholders on project status, risks, and changes
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend process improvements 
  1. Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop print shop team members
  • Interview, select, and evaluate team members to support business needs
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Provide regular updates and performance insights to leadership

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field
  • Five (5) or more years of print production leadership experience, including managing internal teams and external vendors with budget responsibility

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of print production processes, paper, finishing techniques, and distribution requirements
  • Ability to work within both Macintosh or PC computer platforms and peripherals, including Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Proficiency with project management systems and Microsoft Excel or similar tools
  • Ability to manage budgets and analyze cost efficiency
  • Demonstrated knowledge of prepress techniques and standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
