Performance Specialist - Job Description & Core Responsibilities
Role Purpose
The Performance Specialist is responsible for driving measurable operational improvement, productivity, and profitability within assigned PPG CDN customers, MSO accounts, and Strategic PPG Customers. This role serves as a trusted business partner to collision center leadership by delivering PPG Collision Services, operational expertise, and performance-based solutions that strengthen long-term customer relationships and enhance PPG loyalty.
Key Customer Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary support contact for PPG CDN customers, MSO locations, and Strategic PPG customers.
  • Focus on existing key accounts with an emphasis on retention, growth, and performance improvement.
  • Partner closely with PPG sales, leadership teams, and distribution to align service efforts with strategic objectives.

Core Knowledge & Expertise Expectations
Performance Specialists are expected to develop and maintain expert-level understanding of:
  • PPG Collision Services offerings
  • Knowledge College, MVP Business Solutions, and related PPG performance tools
  • PPG PMXI and LINQโ„ข
  • PPG MoonWalkยฎ
  • Key Collision Center KPIs, focus on the 5:
    • Paint and Materials Gross Profit
    • Paint and Materials Sales as a % of total Sales
    • AP & Liquid cost per refinish hour (they need separated)
    • Paint & Materials sales per refinish hours sold
    • Refinish Hours sold per RO

Daily Responsibilities
  • Engage with assigned customers to understand current operational challenges and opportunities.
  • Provide on-site performance support focused on:
    • Paint shop efficiency and throughput
    • KPI review and identification of improvement opportunities
    • Process consistency and standardization
  • Educate customers on PPG Collision Services, Knowledge College, and MVP solutions as needed
  • Observe shop workflows and identify constraints impacting productivity or profitability
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by connecting operational improvements to measurable business outcomes
  • Collaborate with PPG sales, Strategic Account Manager, and distribution partners to ensure aligned customer messaging and support
  • Coordinate and support new installations and upgrades. (when needed)
  • Update Salesforce daily with accurate and timely documentation of:

Monthly Responsibilities
  • Conduct structured KPI and performance reviews with key customers
  • Develop and track action plans tied to customer goals and agreed performance metrics
  • Support implementation of approved performance initiatives and best practices
  • Prioritize service efforts based on customer impact, strategic value, and business needs
  • Review Salesforce activity to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with performance objectives
  • Share insights, trends, and success stories with the Collision Performance Manager and broader PPG team
  • Coordinate and support new installations and upgrades (when needed)
  • OEM Audits and support for Performance Specialist, OEM (when needed)

Administrative & Corporate Compliance Responsibilities
  • Complete all required Workday corporate training accurately and on time, maintaining full compliance with PPG requirements
  • Ensure all assigned corporate learning, certifications, and compliance modules remain current
  • Accurately report company vehicle mileage in accordance with PPG fleet policy on a monthly basis
  • Submit expense reports in a timely, accurate, and policy-compliant manner
  • Maintain professional administrative standards to support audit readiness, cost control, and corporate accountability
