Job description

The Practice Manager is primarily responsible for establishing their practice as a premier destination for all vision needs within the community, build the team member experience/practice culture, gain market share, drive top-line and profitability growth, deliver key performance metrics while executing superior patient experiences. The Practice Manager will establish high standards of performance and operational excellence through leading their team, building high performing talent, and adherence to all policies and procedures.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Drive quality and improvement to meet or exceed all key performance indicators.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the eye-care practice operations, processes, policies and the capability to transfer knowledge to produce superior sales and business results.
• Drives performance through focus on key company initiatives; partnering with team members to improve patient journey resulting in increased revenue, increasing efficiencies, and reducing practice expenses.
• Exhibit strong business acumen centered on continual improvement and execution of best practices for growth.
• Hosts daily huddles and weekly team meetings to celebrate successes and address areas of opportunity.
• Follows workforce management guidelines to develop staff schedules and patient flow for the site.
• Consistently establish clear expectations, train, coach and develop team to perform the job with excellence and accountability.
• Builds talent within practice in partnership with Managing Doctor; coaches team members through regular weekly 1-on-1 discussions, creates development plans, utilizes progressive discipline process when necessary.
• Perform administrative duties to include cash, payroll, inventory management, technical application and understanding.
• Interfaces with the support center and department leads to ensure site resources are being deployed effectively from finance, operations, marketing, and training perspective.
• Looks for innovative ways to improve patient pain points and the overall patient experience.
• All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages 4+ employees and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Required Skills/Abilities
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin
• Experience with running operations of a site, preferably in healthcare or related patient care services field.
• Microsoft Word and Excel proficient.
• Detail oriented with effective communication skills are required, both written and verbal.
• Strong EQ skills - ability to manage both doctor and employee relations.
• Direct patient care experience required, optician license or optical experience preferred.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or two years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements
• Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
• Hand dexterity and eye and hand coordination is critical.
• Lifting. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Use of one or both arms and wrists to lift parts, fixtures, and tools on a frequent basis.
• Sitting. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
• Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
• Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in
which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately or quickly.
• Travel as needed between practices.
• Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of structures. Must be able to read a computer screen for long periods of time.
• Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one workstation to another.
