Job description

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Lead Postal Clerk the Postal Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service to postal customers for Nellis Air Force Base.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver mail and packages to the dormitory and military units.
  • Utilize automated systems to label and forward mail.
  • Enter all packages into computer system for tracking.
  • Greet postal customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Retrieve mail for postal customers.
  • Assist customers with transfer slips.
  • Ensure and maintain a clean and safe department.
  • Maintain weekly and quarterly checklist for Postal delivery van and ensure the van is clean.
  • Ability to obtain U.S Government Security Clearance of Secret within 30 days of employment.
  • Manage and maintain the highest level of accuracy of mailroom functions (i.e. sorting and distribution of official mail, and postal meter procedures).
  • Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as ย mandated by state law.
  • May be assigned other duties as needed

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma, equivalent.
  • Required: Valid Nevada Driver's License with a clean annual DMV report and must be twenty-one (21) years of age to be eligible to drive company vehicles.
  • Preferred: One (1) year verifiable work experience in a postal/mailroom.
