About this position:
Job Type: Full Time, Onsite
Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Day, 7:30am to 4:00pm
  • Swing, 3:30pm to 12:00am
  • Graveyard, 11:30pm to 8:00am

Wage: $18.50 - $21.50, depending on experience
Farwest Steel's Operations Department seeks a knowledgeable and dependable individual to join their team as Production Assistant. In this role, you will process orders cut on the burning machines and assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed while following all safety policies and procedures
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Identify parts associated with a specific order, process parts, and clean up per instructions on the work order using grinders and hand tools.
  2. Stack parts on pallets or in bundles and mark with pertinent information from the work order for delivery or storage.
  3. Remove small cut parts from the burning tables by hand when needed.
  4. Identify all questionable quality issues and present them for review by the supervisor to ensure that customer expectations are met on every order.
  5. Load and unload vehicles including inbound deliveries and customer will calls.
  6. Sort and prepare parts for the processing area.
  7. Occasional forklift and crane operation as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent optional.
  • Prior Warehouse Experience is a plus
  • Attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  • Ability to make mathematical calculations and read a tape measure.
