Job description

About Hayden Homes Amphitheater
Deschutes River Amphitheater is an independent, outdoor riverfront venue built in the historic Old Mill District in 2001. Nestled along the Deschutes River, there might not be a better spot in the Pacific Northwest to catch a show.
About the role
Production Runners are part of the behind-the-scenes production team at Hayden Homes Amphitheater, supporting concerts, comedy shows, and live events throughout the season. This role provides essential logistical support that helps ensure productions stay on schedule and crews have what they need to do their jobs effectively.
This is a part-time, seasonal, show-by-show position with hours dependent on event and production needs.
What you'll do
As a Production Runner, you'll assist with a wide range of production-related tasks on show days. Duties vary by event and may include running errands, transporting supplies, assisting touring crews, and supporting production staff with time-sensitive needs. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and a strong sense of urgency, as runners are often asked to respond quickly to last-minute requests that help keep the production on schedule.
This position involves frequent driving to support production needs before, during, and after events.
This is a working backstage environment, and professionalism is required at all times. Personal fan engagement with artists is not permitted. This role requires a high level of trust and discretion.
Production Runners are venue employees and work under the direction of the Production Manager and Assistant Production Manager.
Responsibilities
• Assist with day-of-show production logistics and errands as assigned
• Drive to pick up and deliver supplies, equipment, paperwork, or food for touring crews
• Support crew and artist needs by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner
• Assist with catering, grocery runs, laundry, and other production-related pickups as directed
• Help maintain organized production areas and support efficient workflow
• Communicate clearly with production staff regarding task status and timing
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities and support multiple needs throughout the day
• Follow Hayden Homes Amphitheater protocols while supporting production operations
Qualifications
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record
• Comfort with frequent driving a 14 passenger van and running errands throughout a shift
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Clear communication skills and professional demeanor
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments
• Ability to follow direction and adapt to changing needs
• Ability to handle sensitive information and situations with discretion
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry items as needed throughout the shift
• Ability to get in and out of vehicles frequently throughout the day
• Ability to work outdoors for portions of the shift
• Ability to work in environments with moderate to loud noise levels
Schedule
• Part-time, seasonal, show-by-show employment
• Shifts vary by event and production needs
• Hours are not guaranteed and depend on event schedule
What to Expect Working Here
It is essential that all employees at Hayden Homes Amphitheater understand and agree to the environment in which we work. We are an outdoor, seasonal concert venue, and our team regularly works in a wide range of conditions including extreme heat and cold, rain, smoke, snow, wind, full sun, nighttime darkness, and the presence of wildlife such as insects and other animals. These elements are a normal part of our workplace. We provide a uniform, but employees are responsible for dressing appropriately for comfort and safety in all conditions. While our workplace happens to host concerts, this role is a job first, and employees are expected to remain focused on their responsibilities and may have little opportunity to experience performances. If you strongly prefer indoor work environments or are primarily seeking access to shows, this role is not the right fit.
Employment with Hayden Homes Amphitheater is seasonal and concludes at the end of each concert season. Due to the dynamic nature of the live events industry, roles, schedules, pay, responsibilities, and supervisors may change from season to season and are not guaranteed upon venue reopening.
At Hayden Homes Amphitheater, we believe great shows come from great people. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status. Everyone deserves a chance to be part of the show.
