What is a production assistant runner?

Production Assistant Runners, often called 'runners', are entry-level staff in film, television, or commercial production teams. Their main role is to support the crew and production office by handling various tasks such as delivering messages, collecting equipment, organizing paperwork, and helping with on-set logistics. Runners are vital for keeping the production running smoothly, as they help solve problems quickly and ensure everyone has what they need on set. This is often considered a starting position for those seeking a career in the entertainment industry, providing valuable insight and experience in different departments.

To thrive as a Production Assistant Runner, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of production processes, with a high school diploma often required.
