What does a post production assistant do?

A post production assistant, as referred to as a PA, primarily works on movie and television media after filming. As a post production assistant, your job duties include arranging schedules, preparing and tracking invoices, organizing workflow, and assisting production staff. Although the position is largely administrative, post production assistants may also spend some time working on the set. The main career qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in communications, media production, or a film-related field, along with work experience in a production environment. Many PAs also belong to an entertainment industry union in order to find job opportunities and maintain minimum wages. Additional skills include the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, as well as familiarity with Final Cut Pro and DVD production programs.
