Job description


Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: General plant labor and clean-up of production areas; observe, monitor and report any conditions that could lead to product nonconformity or other irregularity; being trained in various entry-level production tasks and fills in as needed during vacation, absences, and increased production demands; report equipment problems identified to management; complete equipment pre-shift and post-shift reports, if applicable; clean work areas; shovel stone from around conveyors; operate small front end loader; water truck, skid steer, and sweeper truck; load material onto customer trucks, replace or assist other workers as needed or directed; and other duties as assigned by management.
Qualified candidates will have:
• A High School Diploma or GED;
• 1+ year of raw material loading experience in an industrial manufacturing environment;
• willing and able to work rotating shifts; including nights and weekends
• ability to learn mechanical equipment operation and maintenance a plus;
Hourly Wage Rate- $28.93
Language Skills:
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with other employees of the organization.
Math Skills:
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.;
Physical Demands:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, frequently required to walk and occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; in outside weather conditions; and with explosives and is frequently exposed to wet and or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, petroleum products, toxic or caustic chemicals, petroleum products, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
