Job description

Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Production Shop Assistant. If you dislike sitting at a desk and thrive in a fast-paced, high-movement environment, this is your role. As a Production Shop Assistant, you are the physical backbone of our operations. This is a dynamic, entry-level position where you will handle the vital movement of materials and tooling between and within our two local facilities. Beyond transportation, you will be the go-to person responding to shifting daily requests from production leadership—handling everything from inventory staging to urgent facility support tasks. It’s physical, fast-paced work that requires you to pivot quickly, manage your own time, and keep our production lines running.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Work with production to coordinate tooling/part transit between facilities.
  • Ensure tooling is delivered to correct department and communicate accordingly.
  • Maintain process of visually identifying/logging tools and parts in storage area.
  • Assist shipping and receiving with daily inbound and outbound material movements.
  • Package/band/secure shipments for transit.
  • Maintain Fork Truck inspection log.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
  • Make local deliveries and pickups as required.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Material Handling Responsibilities:

  • Safely load, unload, and transport composite materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment according to company standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
  • Assist with inventory control and record-keeping for composite materials.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risk of accidents.

Transportation and Logistics Responsibilities:

  • Operate company vehicles to transport goods, adhering to safe driving practices and traffic regulations.
  • Securely load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and damage prevention.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures when required.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely and professional deliveries.

Job Specifications:
Education: Requires a High School Diploma/GED or combination of relevant education and work experience may be substituted to meet educational requirements only.
Years’ Experience: Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in material handling or warehouse operations (experience operating forklifts a plus).

Other: Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel to other Applied Composites locations and/or client locations.
