About the Assistant Corporate Controller Position

The Assistant Corporate Controller is a critical financial leadership role responsible for overseeing Colonial Pipeline Company's most important accounting and financial reporting activities. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements across multiple reporting frameworks, including IFRS, US GAAP, and FERC.

Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Controller, this role leads the monthly close process, partners closely with internal teams and external auditors, and supports compliance with evolving accounting and regulatory standards. The Assistant Corporate Controller is also a key contributor to SarbanesOxley (SOX) compliance efforts and serves as the Controller for Bengal Pipeline, a joint venture valued at approximately $50 million.

This role is ideal for a proven accounting leader who thrives in a dynamic, multistandard reporting environment and enjoys developing highperforming teams while supporting strategic business initiatives.

What You Get to Do

  • Lead a fastpaced, 2day monthly close and financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and disclosures
  • Oversee complex accounting areas including consolidations, eliminations, PP&E, leases, income taxes, benefit programs, business combinations, and legal/environmental contingencies
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and FERC accounting and reporting requirements
  • Support SEC reporting by preparing accurate quarterly financial data for the parent company
  • Manage quarterly and annual audits across multiple scopes and coordinate with external auditors
  • Prepare and review external filings, including audited financial statements and FERC Form 6
  • Lead technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards
  • Oversee SOX compliance, including design, documentation, and testing of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Partner with crossfunctional teams on strategic initiatives, M&A activity, and special projects
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement
  • Serve as Controller for Bengal Pipeline, overseeing close, forecasting, budgeting, audits, and Boardlevel financial presentations

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Proven experience leading monthly close and financial reporting processes
  • Experience working in both public accounting and corporate accounting environments (preferred)
  • Strong leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams
  • Ability to operate effectively in a regulated, multientity, multistandard reporting environment
