Position Summary:

We are seeking a full-time Case Manager to join our Personal Injury department. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and a strong communicator, capable of handling multiple cases at various stages of the PI case lifecycle from intake to treatment, demand, and litigation. You will work closely with attorneys and support staff to keep files moving efficiently and clients informed.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with PI case file maintenance, organization, and data entry in our case management system (MerusCase).
  • Prepare and send opening and silence letters, representation letters, and medical authorizations.
  • Schedule medical appointments and diagnostic tests (MRIs, PT, etc.).
  • Monitor treatment status and request medical records and billing from providers.
  • Assist with preparing demand packages and tracking negotiation progress.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and documentation.
  • Help prepare files for litigation when necessary (complaints, service packets, discovery).
  • Draft cover letters, settlement documents, and related correspondence.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and external providers.
  • Support attorney or support staff with calendar management and deadline tracking.
  • Log activities, calls, and updates accurately and timely.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum 12 years experience in a legal assistant or legal support role (PI experience preferred).
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in MerusCase or similar legal case management software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the California PI case process, including treatment and settlement phases.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with Apple systems and cloud-based tools.
