• Conduct comprehensive evaluations including assessment of medical history, physical examinations, and functional performance to guide treatment decisions.
• Develop and communicate treatment plans to patients and their families, actively involving them in setting realistic recovery goals.
• Implement and adapt treatment protocols based on ongoing evaluations, ensuring that care evolves as patient needs change.
• Regularly consult with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care and document any changes in patient conditions that necessitate adjustments to the treatment plan.
• Manage discharge planning and provide detailed follow-up care instructions, ensuring patients leave with the necessary resources for continued recovery.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment activities, reflecting each patient's journey, progress notes, and performance metrics.
• Exhibit strong time management skills by effectively managing patient schedules and meeting productivity benchmarks.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives to promote the services offered and enhance the visibility of the facility.
• Engage in professional growth by pursuing continuing education opportunities, serving as a mentor to less experienced staff or interns, and contributing to departmental objectives.
• Facilitate a positive customer experience and adaptability to patient needs, actively reducing barriers to access care.

This role primarily focuses on outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation patients who are recovering from surgeries, trauma, or chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Our diverse patient population ranges from athletes looking to return to peak performance to older adults managing arthritis pain. You will utilize your expertise to provide tailored interventions that address both the physical and emotional aspects of recovery, fostering a nurturing environment that promotes healing and rehabilitation.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• Current state license or relevant accreditation required in Virginia.
• Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association is necessary.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients and interdisciplinary teams.
• A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

While previous experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is highly regarded, it is not a strict requirement. New graduates with strong foundational knowledge and a desire to learn will also be considered. Familiarity with EMR systems and assessment tools used in physical therapy will be advantageous.
