How much do part time physiotherapy jobs pay per year?

As of Aug 16, 2026, the average yearly pay for part time physiotherapy in the United States is $42,553.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $32,000.00 and $47,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time physiotherapist?

To thrive as a Part Time Physiotherapist, you need a recognized physiotherapy degree, professional registration, and a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation techniques. Familiarity with patient management software, exercise prescription tools, and electronic health records is typically required. Excellent communication, empathy, and adaptability are vital soft skills for building rapport with patients and managing varied caseloads. These competencies ensure effective patient recovery, high-quality care, and seamless integration within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time physiotherapists in balancing patient care and administrative duties?

Part-time physiotherapists often need to maximize their patient care within limited hours while also staying on top of essential administrative tasks, such as documentation and follow-ups. This can require strong time management skills to ensure each patient receives quality care without paperwork piling up. Additionally, part-time roles may involve working with different team members or patients each shift, which can make continuity of care and communication more challenging. However, many clinics support part-time staff through shared digital records and flexible scheduling to help manage these challenges.

What is part time physiotherapy?

Part time physiotherapy refers to working as a physiotherapist on a reduced schedule compared to a full-time position, typically involving fewer hours per week. Part time physiotherapists assess, diagnose, and treat patients to improve movement and manage pain, just like their full-time counterparts. This arrangement provides flexibility for those balancing work with other commitments, such as family, studies, or other jobs. Part time roles may be available in clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or through home visits.

What is the difference between Part Time Physiotherapy vs Full Time Physiotherapy?

Both roles require the same certifications and work in similar environments, but differ mainly in hours and employment structure.
