Overview

PERSONNEL ASSISTANT II (2026-25728):

ย 

Bowhead seeks a senior Personnel Assistant to join our team at Fort Jackson, SC. The Personnel Assistant will perform a variety of tasks in assisting in the Central Issue Facility of the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC). He will serve as a clerical expert in reviewing and processing personal property documentation for completion and accuracy according to JTR guidelines.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:ย 

  • Processes and reviews personal property documentation for completion, accuracy, and within their entitlements according to the JTR.
  • Determines the most cost-effective ways to move personal property, advising customers on which types of shipment they have based on PCS orders.
  • Communicates with service members and dependents to facilitate their travel needs.
  • Updates customer information for delivery and contact information.
  • Responds to routine questions on policy and procedures, and/or provide assistance to the customer's needs.
  • Provides guidance to lower-level Personnel Assistants.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required at a minimum
  • At least 3 years of Personnel Assistant experience
  • Knowledge of the DPS and ETOPS to input and submit customer shipment information.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of various office software packages
  • A normal work week is 40 hours (5 days per week); must be willing to work additional hours/overtime when mission requires.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for at least 1 hourย 
  • Work is mostly sedentary but at times may involve continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, and kneeling.ย 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust Level (NACI). Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
