Job description

Our firm is growing, and weโ€™re looking for an empathic, experienced Personal Injury attorney to help clients pursue justice and secure fair compensation for their injuries. In this role, you will manage both pre-litigation and litigation matters, supported by a team of highly skilled legal professionals. Compensation:

$125,000 - $150,000 per year commensurate with experience


Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of personal injury paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal secretary
  • Review, modify, and draft motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, claims, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents
  • Converse with clients, expert witnesses, supporting witnesses, insurance company adjusters, and medical providers to gather information
  • Appear as legal counsel on the clientsโ€™ behalf at mediations, trials, hearings, depositions, and litigation
  • Gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other evidence relevant to the case and conduct legal research on case law and premises liability
  • Manage a personal injury caseload from intake through settlement or trial
  • Develop and execute case strategies designed to maximize client recovery
  • Regularly consult with clients, adjusters, experts, and other parties as needed to effectively move cases forward to settlement
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement demands
  • Conduct depositions, mediations, and court appearances (virtual and in-person)
  • Argue motions and represent clients at hearings, mediations, and court appearances
  • Analyze case-specific legal issues and documentation (e.g., insurance policies, lien language, settlement releases)
  • Maintain consistent, proactive communication with clients
  • Collaborate closely with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case progression

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of personal injury law/ tort law, medical terminology, wrongful death, civil and family law, and medical malpractice is vital
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, research, and communication skills are desired
  • A bachelorโ€™s degree and a J.D. degree is required
  • 3 years of experience in personal injury litigation or trial experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, or civil litigation practice areas is needed
  • Must be computer proficient
  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado and in good standing with the Colorado Bar Association
  • 3-5 years of experience representing clients in a law firm
  • Prior litigation experience (personal injury preferred)
  • Trial experience is a plus
  • Medical Malpractice experience is a plus
  • Strong motion practice, research, and writing skills
  • Experience taking or defending depositions preferred
  • Ability to independently manage a Pre-Litigation/Litigation caseload
