Job description

Overall Job Function:

To build a long-term, profitable relationships with targeted customers and prospects of FCS in a manner consistent with the overall strategy of the organization. To also lead and train other beef sales specialists.

Competencies:

Effective selling, follow-up, problem solving, negotiations and bargaining, relationship building and time management skills.

Essential Job Duties:

Analyze Feedlot Performance data

Lead the Ruminant Sales Team

Understand Cattle Risk Protection and Marketing Strategies

Dairy Experience is a plus

Planning and reporting customer focused sales calls

Creating the organization’s sales and marketing plans

Orchestrate customer needs with other team members to ensure customer satisfaction

Maintain and Grow current customer base

Develop new and profitable accounts to grow business

Promotes the entire FCS marketing effort by identifying and communicating opportunities for Agronomy, Feed, Grain, and Lumber.

Handles and resolves customer complaints to ensure the highest possible customer satisfaction

Work to develop and maintain a customer database to ensure effective and efficient handling of all information

Assists other sales reps/location employees when needed or asked by supervisor

Participate in “special projects” when needed

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Ag related College degree

5-10 years of beef sales experience

Valid Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Progressive, Positive Work History

Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills

Experience with Performance Livestock Analytics

Experience running ration Balancing program

Work Environment:

This position is based in a fast-paced agricultural setting and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and vibrations. The employees is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate but occasionally may be loud. PPE will be provided and must be utilized according to safety standards. Typical working hours are based on customer and organizational demand; hours may be long, irregular and including weekends and holidays during peak season.

Physical Demands:

While performing job functions the employee will be required to talk and hear most of the time. The employee will spend frequent intervals moving and sitting, while also needing to reach, bend, twist, crawl, crouch, stoop or kneel. The employee will need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and maneuver on and off a mobile equipment. The physicality of this job is high.
