What are Performance Feeds?

Performance Feeds refer to specialized animal feeds designed to enhance the growth, health, and productivity of livestock or performance animals such as horses, cattle, or poultry. These feeds are formulated with a balanced mix of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals tailored to meet the specific needs of animals engaged in high activity or production. Performance Feeds help improve energy levels, muscle development, and overall performance, making them essential in competitive or commercial settings. Choosing the right Performance Feed depends on factors such as the species, age, activity level, and specific goals for the animal. Regular consultation with a nutritionist or veterinarian can help ensure optimal feed selection and animal health.

Job description

Our Manager, Data Feeds will lead the design, development, and day-to-day management of data ingestion and extraction pipelines that power critical analytics and operational workflows. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building reliable, scalable data solutions while also guiding a team and partnering across the business to ensure data is accurate, well understood, and fit for use.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience with Azure Data Factory, advanced SQL skills, and a track record of leading technical work in complex data environments. Experience working with healthcare data, including claims, clinical, or pharmacy information, is especially valuable, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Technical Delivery & Architecture

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable data ingestion and extraction pipelines using Azure Data Factory and associated Azure services.
  • Develop and optimize SQL-based transformations, validations, and extraction logic to support downstream analytics, reporting, and operational use cases.
  • Apply Tandigm's data integration standards, patterns, and best practices to ensure maintainability, observability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing data feeds to improve reliability, timeliness, and data quality.

Data Understanding & Classification

  • Identify data quality issues, anomalies, or gaps and work collaboratively to resolve them.
  • Ensure data is ingested and labeled in a manner that supports analytics, compliance, and future reuse.

Leadership & Team Management

  • May lead a small team of data engineers and developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, mentoring, and day-to-day support.ย
  • Balance hands-on development with people management responsibilities, including planning, prioritization, and performance coaching.
  • Promote engineering best practices, including testing, code quality, and operational excellence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product owners, analysts, architects, and external partners to deliver new data feeds and enhancements.
  • Translate business and clinical requirements into clear technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
