Are you a Registered Nurse looking to work outside of a hospital? Then the Registered Nurse at the STEP programs is perfect for you!

The Per Diem Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for prescribing, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care delivered within their shift, and for utilizing the nursing process to provide assessment, treatment planning, and evaluation of client care within designated clinical areas. As the Per Diem Nurse you will be responsible for meeting all regulatory documentation standards, participate in the multidisciplinary team meetings, Quality Assurance, and Utilization Review activities. You will act as a clinical role model and provide nursing consultation to staff within the assigned areas of responsibility.

ABOUT STEP

The STEP (Skills, Transitions, Exploration and Progress) Program is a partnership between Kaiser Permanente and Seneca Family of Agencies located in Fairfield, CA. STEP provides intensive, short-term stabilization services to youth, ages 12-17, for an average of 15 days. Our goal is to reintegrate our youth into schools and the community with lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates and facilitates referral and intake process
  • Collects and analyzes assessment data to formulate resident care problems, individualized outcomes, plans, implements and evaluates nursing interventions
  • Facilitates the Recreational Group for the program
  • Provides all care required to be given by a RN on shift assigned
  • Meets all regulatory and facility documentation standards
  • Protects the dignity and rights of youth
  • Collaborates with Psychiatrist to ensure quality of medication administration, adequate consents, medical treatment and follow-up
  • Collaborates with Clinical Manager to ensure health and safety, infection control, resource utilization, and clinical and rehabilitative standards of care
  • Participates in nursing department, staff meetings and other facility activities
  • Fosters professional development of staff on assigned shift

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing OR ADN or equivalent
  • Valid California Registered Nurse License
  • Current CPR – BLS certification
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies' insurance policy
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements

PREFERRED

  • Psychiatric Nursing experience
  • Bilingual Spanish skill set
  • Good critical-thinking, communication, and organization skills

SCHEDULE

  • Per Diem; number of shifts will vary
    • Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 4:30pm (Sonoma)
    • Monday - Friday; 8am - 4pm (Solano, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa)
  • Travel is required to Santa Clara STEP and at least 2 other STEP locations

BENEFITS

  • Starting $60.10 - $62.60 per hour, commensurate with experience
    • Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
    • Salary increases each year
