For a general laborer driver, entry-level trucking companies with high turnover and less strict experience requirements tend to be easier to get hired by. What does a typical day look like for a General Laborer Driver, and how much driving is involved compared to physical labor?

A typical day for a General Laborer Driver involves a blend of driving company vehicles to job sites and performing physical labor tasks, such as loading and unloading materials, assisting with site setup, or supporting other crew members with manual tasks. The ratio of driving to labor can vary depending on the employer and specific project needs, but most roles expect candidates to be comfortable with both extended periods on the road and hands-on, physical work. Drivers may also be responsible for maintaining vehicle logs, inspecting equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Collaboration with other team members is common, and strong communication skills are valuable for coordinating deliveries and worksite activities.
