We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a manufacturing organization in Golden Valley, Minnesota. This is a Contract position focused on delivering accurate, timely pay for a large employee population across multiple states while maintaining compliance with payroll regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with end-to-end payroll processing and is comfortable working in Workday within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage complete payroll processing cycles for a workforce of more than 500 employees, ensuring accuracy and on-time completion.
• Administer multi-state payroll activities while applying federal, state, and local payroll requirements appropriately.
• Use Workday Now to process payroll transactions, review employee data, and resolve payroll-related discrepancies.
• Audit payroll records, deductions, taxes, and earnings to identify issues and correct them before final payroll submission.
• Partner with internal teams to gather and validate timekeeping, compensation, and employee information that impacts payroll.
• Respond to payroll questions from employees and stakeholders, providing clear and timely resolution to pay-related concerns.
• Maintain organized payroll documentation and support compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Proven experience handling full-cycle payroll from data review through final processing and post-payroll reconciliation.
• Background managing payroll for employees located in multiple states with an understanding of varying payroll rules.
• Experience with Workday

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with sensitive payroll data.
• Knowledge of payroll practices, tax withholdings, deductions, and compliance requirements.
