In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for payroll operations, leave of absence administration, and payroll process improvements across a national portfolio of multifamily communities. You will collaborate closely with Human Resources, LOA, Benefits, Finance, and Operations to support employee lifecycle transactions, leave administration, regulatory compliance, and payroll reporting. This position also provides leadership, guidance, and day-to-day supervision of the payroll team, ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant payroll operations.Why You'll Love Working Here:Career Growth: Expand your expertise in Yardi and property management technology.Work-Life Balance: Enjoy generous paid time off and a supportive work environment.Comprehensive Benefits: Full medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, along with long-term disability, a 401K with company match, and more.Collaborative Culture: Work with a dedicated team that values problem-solving, efficiency, and continuous improvement.What You'll Do:Manage and oversee the full-cycle payroll process for multi-site operations.Ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payrolls.Maintain employee earnings, deductions, taxes, direct deposits, garnishments, and benefit deductions.Ensure accurate processing of new hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.Manage year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and related reporting.Serve as the primary administrator for payroll systems.Partner with Human Resources to ensure proper payroll administration for employees on leaves of absence.Ensure accurate pay processing for employees on protected leaves, disability leaves, workers' compensation, and paid leave programs.Coordinate payroll adjustments related to leave benefits and wage replacement programs.Supervise, coach, and develop payroll staff.Resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.Prepare payroll reports for leadership and Finance.Perform payroll reconciliations and account balancing.Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and employee development within the payroll function.What We're Looking For:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible payroll experience.Minimum of two (2) years of payroll leadership or supervisory experience preferred.Experience processing multi-location payrolls.Experience with California payroll laws and wage and hour complianceCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or equivalent payroll certification considered a plus.Extensive knowledge of California payroll regulations and federal payroll laws.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software.If you're looking for an exciting opportunity to apply your Yardi expertise and contribute to a growing, innovative property management team, Aperto is the perfect fit for you.
