Job description

The Senior Payroll Administrator will own payroll processing for all US associates including the preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and administration of the payroll system and will provide payroll guidance and act as a resource to the Payroll/Human Resources team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Process Weekly, Bi-Weekly, and Monthly payroll for all US associates while effectively managing all payroll-related transactions including tax, benefits and individual adjustment details in Workday system

  • Solve complex problems which may require a new perspective on existing solutions

  • Manage third party vendor relationships required for payroll processing

  • Execute time and attendance processing

  • Continuously improve existing payroll processes to strengthen efficiency, associate experience and reporting

  • Process associate compensation adjustments such as pay changes, tax changes, new hires, direct deposit changes, special payments, garnishments and liens in accordance with internal guidelines and legal regulations (both state and federal)

  • Research, analyze and resolve payroll-related issues and communicate effectively with associates and stakeholders on issue resolution

  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of reports for government agencies, tax authorities, insurance companies, industry associations, and other units of the Company, as required

  • Ensure process documentation is updated as new or changed processes are established

  • Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in protecting sensitive information

  • Perform other duties and special projects, as requested

Qualifications Include:

  • 3+ years' experience owning all aspects of payroll processing

  • Workday experience strongly preferred

  • Certified Payroll Professional preferred

  • Solid U.S. payroll tax and wage and hour laws knowledge

  • Attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills, ability to take initiative, excellent time management and prioritization abilities

  • Strong mathematical, analytical and technical skills; High proficiency with Excel (including V-lookup and pivot tables)

  • Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines with accuracy and timeliness

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Associates degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
