Job description

Entry Level Payroll Position

Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Payroll Manager. The Payroll Assistant will support in the efficient operation of processing payroll. Perform duties related to payroll operations.

Duties: included but not limited to the following:

  • Maintains payroll records information by collecting, calculating, and entering data. Including recording hours of work, processing time records, and maintaining payroll control records.

  • Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases

  • Aide with a high volume of payroll, to include 900+ employees

  • Maintain knowledge base and resource information for multi-state payroll processing

  • Assist with processing employee changes to direct deposit, deductions, child support, wage garnishments, wage verifications etc.

  • Backup for Payroll Supervisor for processing payrolls as well as prepare paychecks for distribution

  • Answering questions and requests related to payroll in a timely manner

  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies, procedures and confidential information

  • Assist in special projects at the direction of the Payroll Manager

Other duties may be assigned:

  • Ability to sort and file numerically.

  • Input information with speed and accuracy.

  • Ability to use computer terminal, ten key by touch, facsimile, and copier.

  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing

  • Ability to handle highly confidential information
