Job description

We are seeking a Payroll & Benefits Manager for a professional services firm. This position will oversee payroll, benefits, and onboarding functions while leading a team responsible for supporting employees throughout the employment lifecycle. The role will ensure payroll accuracy, maintain compliance with applicable regulations, administer employee benefit programs, and provide reporting and analysis to support business operations. This is an onsite position in Flowood, MS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for team members responsible for payroll, benefits administration, and onboarding activities.
  • Oversee payroll operations, including regular payroll processing, incentive payments, and related reporting.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, retirement plan administration, and benefit communications.
  • Direct onboarding, employee status changes, and separation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations, unemployment requirements, and other employment-related laws.
  • Oversee payroll elections, garnishments, and other payroll-related transactions.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations, General Ledger balancing, and year-end processing activities.
  • Develop and maintain payroll, benefits, and workforce reporting for leadership.
  • Coordinate annual performance review administration and tracking.
  • Support human resources initiatives, process improvements, and special projects.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Experience overseeing payroll processing, payroll tax administration, and employee benefits programs.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and payroll compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of federal and state employment laws related to payroll and benefits.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Experience working with Workday or similar HRIS platforms.
  • Experience with Crystal Reports preferred.

Compensation

  • $65,000 - $75,000, depending on experience.
