Job description

Ottimate is seeking an experienced, customer-focused Payment Solutions & Enablement Specialist to help new customers successfully launch and adopt VendorPay. This role will serve as the payments expert throughout implementation, with a primary focus on reducing time to first payment and accelerating customers toward their expected payment volume and Virtual Card adoption.
Working closely with Implementation, Onboarding, Customer Success, and Payment Operations, you will guide customers through the payments portion of their implementation, identify and remove barriers to going live, and ensure they are positioned to begin transacting quickly. Once customers begin processing payments, you will remain engaged during the initial ramp period to help drive adoption before transitioning the customer to ongoing Payment Operations support.
This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who understands payments, enjoys working directly with customers, and knows how to turn a successful implementation into measurable adoption.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Support the payment enablement experience for new VendorPay customers from implementation through early adoption, with a focus on accelerating time to first payment and early payment adoption.
  • Partner with Implementation and Onboarding teams to establish a clear path to first payment and keep customers progressing toward launch.
  • Lead customer education and consultative sessions on VendorPay capabilities, payment workflows, and best practices.
  • Identify and remove operational, product, or customer barriers that could delay a customer's first payment.
  • Monitor early payment activity and proactively engage customers to accelerate transaction volume and adoption.
  • Help customers progress toward the payment volume and Virtual Card opportunities identified during the sales and implementation process.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across Virtual Card, ACH, and Check payment workflows.
  • Troubleshoot complex payment scenarios and coordinate with Payment Operations, Product, Engineering, and other teams to drive resolution.
  • Establish clear criteria for transitioning successfully launched and ramped customers to ongoing Payment Operations support.
  • Identify trends across implementations and develop repeatable playbooks, processes, and educational resources that improve time-to-value for future customers.
  • Provide customer and operational feedback to Product and Engineering to reduce implementation friction and improve the VendorPay experience.
  • Leverage data, AI, and automation to improve implementation efficiency, identify adoption opportunities, and scale customer enablement.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in payments, fintech, payment operations, SaaS implementation, customer enablement, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic payment methods, particularly ACH and commercial card or Virtual Card payments.
  • Experience supporting customer implementations, onboarding, or adoption within a SaaS, fintech, or payments environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive customers toward measurable milestones and business outcomes.
  • Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to lead meetings, educate customers, overcome obstacles, and build confidence.
  • Ability to identify implementation risks and proactively drive issues through resolution.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex payment concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience collaborating across Implementation, Customer Success, Operations, Product, and Engineering teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use customer and transaction data to identify adoption gaps and opportunities.
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple customer implementations and priorities simultaneously.
  • Process-oriented mindset with a track record of turning successful approaches into repeatable and scalable processes.
  • Interest in using AI and automation to improve customer implementation and operational efficiency.

Benefits
At Ottimate, you'll have the opportunity to directly influence how quickly new customers realize value from our payment solutions. You'll work across the customer journey, collaborate with teams throughout the organization, and see the measurable impact of your work through faster launches, increased payment volume, and stronger VendorPay adoption.
Ottimate offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:
  • Salary range $85,000-95,000 per year.
  • Performance-based bonus tied to key customer implementation and payment adoption outcomes.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Retirement benefits.
  • Remote work environment.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • The opportunity to help shape and scale how Ottimate implements and enables customers on its growing payments platform.

We do not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability status, or marital status. If you are excited about the role but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply.
