Job description

Job Title – Pattern Maker ( Metal ) – 1st Shift

Location: Syracuse, New York

Base Salary – $70,000+Relocation benefit is offered for this position!

Qualifications:

Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution

Minimum of four (4) years Journeyman-level Patternmaker experience OR Journeyman license

Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future 

Relocation benefit is offered for this position!

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior Solid Works and Master Cam experience

2 years of experience CNC Programming

Job Details:

Plan, layout and perform a wide variety of extremely complex and difficult hand finishing operations on rough castings of complicated forms to be used as patterns, core boxes and permanent molds.

Make build-ups or fabricate patterns, core boxes and permanent molds made of various materials.

Layout, align and fasten split sections to make plates or cope and drag plates.

Duties require extremely difficult layout to establish inter-relationship of dimensions. Establish interim dimensions not shown on prints.

Setup and operate all types of machine tools, plus conventional and numerical controlled machines, devising and improvising tooling and setup for individual requirements.

Must be capable of programming software for CNC machining such as the use of SolidWorks. 

Required to know pattern making techniques and processes but may develop own as required. 

Perform hand and bench operations requiring intricate operations such as fitting, polishing, scraping, etc.

Check work to required tolerances and layout and make templates when necessary.

Make allowance for draft, shrinkage and finish.

Detect errors in prints and specifications and refer these and other unusual conditions to superior.

Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities such as minor maintenance that includes cleaning, inspection, minor lubrication and tightening loose bolts.
