Commercial / Hospitality Furniture Upholsterer

Job Description

Avis Furniture Company, a long-established manufacturer of hospitality and restaurant furnishings since 1959, is looking for an experienced Furniture Upholsterer to join our production team working on commercial and hospitality projects.

This role is ideal for a skilled upholsterer who takes pride in quality work and can take projects from shop drawings and work orders through final upholstery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

We are looking for a skilled upholsterer who takes pride in craftsmanship and enjoys seeing a project through from raw materials to finished product, and who is comfortable handling projects from pattern layout and cutting, through final upholstery and finishing.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret shop drawings and work orders
  • Complete upholstery projects from start to finish, including cutting, sewing, prep work, marking, and upholstering
  • Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Follow company policies and safety standards
  • Work as part of the production team to maintain high quality and efficiency

Requirements

  • Ability to work within a just-in-time production environment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted
  • Willingness to learn other areas of the manufacturing process
