What You Will Do as a Patternmaker: This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of patterns. Transforms merchandising ideas and product concepts into working patterns that achieve the desired fit and appearance at the minimum cost in materials and labor. This includes the supervision of prototype assembly, writing dimension specifications, and the monitoring of finished production for compliance to specifications. This position is responsible for clear and concise communications with internal departments and outside contractors.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Develops cost effective patterns that satisfy customer's needs.
  • Monitors the prototype process to ensure quality and timelines are met. Foreses issues and provides solutions.
  • Maintains productive communication with required areas to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Interprets designer's intent and provides error free production patterns, dimension specifications, style definitions, and marking rules.
  • Analyzes and drives pattern data transitions across the patterns team.
  • Owns the continuity and relevance of pattern data across the department during process changes. Creates the project plan. Understands the data relations and impact of change for the department.
  • Champions process improvements with process managers & partners through implementation and validation of upgrades (operational decision making) including improvements to workflow through all department systems and programs.
  • Coaches/counsels/trains peers and oversees WWOF strategic product development projects (empowering and facilitating change).

Skills for Success:

  • Years of Related Professional Experience: 3+
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Pattern design and pattern grading experience
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written)
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to handle issues cross-functionally
  • Experienced knowledge of pattern design
  • Experienced knowledge of pattern grading concepts
  • Superior CAD skills used in pattern making, grading, style definition, and marker making
