Responsibilities

Assists in the supervision of the work, volume and productivity of the Patient Account Specialists, shifting work assignments per daily volumes as needed. Reports the status of the department to the Revenue Cycle Supervisor and is an example of excellent customer service. Handles all escalated patient concerns and office items via phone and email. Provides support to the Patient Account Specialist team, providing leadership and coordinating with the Revenue Cycle Supervisor on the training of new hires. Monitors recorded calls for Quality Improvement.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:1. a. Two (2) years experience in customer service in a medical business environment (hospital, insurance company, doctor's office), medical collections, or related field, OR b. Three (3) years experience in customer service in any other industry. 2. Professional written and verbal communication skills. 3. Basic reading, writing and arithmetic. 4. Basic computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite Patient Acct Specialist Lead Page 3 PREFERRED:1. Basic knowledge of hospital terminology applicable to patient billing. 3. Two (2) years experience in customer service, collections, or related field. 4. CPAR-Certified Patient Account Representative (HFMA Georgia) 5. Bilingual skills preferred.
