POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision coordinates front office activities of the clinical setting ensuring a pleasant and welcoming patient experience while obtaining critical information for proper billing and collections of services provided.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient Services Representative II duties may include but are not limited to Core Functions: Patient Scheduling, Insurance verification, Charge Entry, Data Entry, Insurance Follow-Up, Self-Pay Follow-Up/Collections, Refund Management, Response to Patient Account Inquiries, Customer Service Advocacy, Self-Pay Collections.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION:
2 years of college education or Associate Degree required.
EXPERIENCE:
3 - 4 year of related experience. In lieu of education requirements, experience may be substituted on year for year basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge of third-party insurance in regards to plan types: HMO, PPO, POS, and Indemnity.
2. Ability to counsel patients financially regarding outstanding charges and effectively resolve problems via the highest customer service skills and etiquette.
3. Primary knowledge and understanding of the mechanisms of Physician Billing Systems.
4. Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in a healthcare environment.
5. Possess full knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
6. Knowledge of medical terminology.
7. Knowledge of current federal and state laws regarding release of health information and confidentiality.
