Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Receives ongoing training, technical direction, and guidance from the Executive Pastry Chef and Pastry Sous Chef.
  2. Performs all duties in compliance with all safety standards, health standards, all internal policies and procedures, and in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act. 
  3. Maintains alertness for the performance of all responsibilities and a general awareness of pastry operations at all times. Keeps their supervisor informed of any concerns regarding the quality, selection, and variety of all pastry items. 
  4. Maintains and ensures that recipes, flavor profiles, quality, appearance, and production time frames are adhered to for all menu/food items being produced to maintain consistency. 
  5. Responsible for food preparation, storage, and service delivery to customers in their establishment.
  6. Assist senior kitchen staff with food inventory tracking to ensure staff have all food items needed for production. Includes keeping records of the quantity of supplies ordered and the estimated time of shipment arrivals. 
  7. Responsible for the cleanliness, organization, and preparedness of the immediate work space and adjacent areas.
  8. Communicate with the on-coming and out-going shifts and relay information to coworkers.
  9. Assist with special projects as directed by the Executive Pastry Chef and Pastry Sous Chef to support the efficient operation of the culinary division.
  10. Maintains acceptable attendance record and arrives in the designated kitchen at scheduled time, in proper uniform and ready to work.
  11. Understand all aspects of the pastry/bakery menus developed by the Executive Pastry Chef and how to execute each component
  12. Understand the exceptional quality of the product expected by Chamonix and how to edit products that are not to this standard.
  13. Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote the culture, values, and mission of Chamonix.
  14. Contribute to creating a culture and work environment based on respect, providing opportunities for staff to learn, grow, and develop their abilities.
  15. Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated culinary experience. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience in problem-solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
  • Capable of working well in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to excellence, a positive attitude, and a desire to learn.
  • Ability to work cleanly and efficiently, paying close attention to details.
  • Possesses excellent basic math skills and can operate computer software programs, including spreadsheet applications.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Two (2) years of culinary experience is preferred, especially within a hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment.
  • Prefer recent and related pastry experience. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:A 

  • Food Handler’s License, or equivalent, is preferred. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve performing physical exertion such as frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, crouching, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting,  and standing for an entire 8+ hour work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties require lifting up to 50 pounds to stack, store, or move kitchen and restaurant supplies and equipment. Essential duties involve a flexible work week with additional hours routinely required. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

$22.00+ an hour based on experience
