Daily Hours: 8.5 (7.5 Paid)

Civil Service Title: Assistant Director of Programs (Competitive)
Minimum Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation with a Master's degree in Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Child
Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field of study, plus one (1) year paid full-time or its
part-time equivalent professional* experience in educational program development and delivery, curriculum
development and delivery, training development and delivery, or providing referral services, all of which must
be related to youth (ages up to, and including twenty-one (21) years of age); OR,
(B) Graduation with a Bachelor's degree in one of the fields mentioned in (A) above, plus three (3) years paid
full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as described in (A) above; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
*Professional experience does not include clerical or secretarial experience.
Desired Qualifications:
At least 5 years experience in administration of a NAEYC accreditated childcare setting and/or afterschool program;
Documented experience in leading professional development in evidence-based best practices for childcare staff development;
Demonstrated leadership in working effectively with students, teachers, administrators, families, community members and community based organizations;
Demonstrated capacity to use data analysis to guide decision making to support student learning in expanded and enriched learning opportunities during before school, after school, and summer programming;
Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, effective strategies to support student social-emotional learning and restorative practices;
Demonstrated educational practice rooted in a culture of high expectations and success for all students;
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
Collaborate with district administration and building based staff to ensure KidsCare program objectives are met, and the program is aligned with GCSD's academic and social emotional learning objectives;
Work with the Director of Community Schools to establish and maintain the annual program budget for KidsCare;
Collaborate with the Center for Youth Services as the lead agency for Community Schools;
Provide coaching and mentoring for Community Schools Coordinators and Parent Coordinators in all elementary schools;
Support implementation of needs-driven high quality programs and services in adherence with the Community Schools strategy key practices;
Ensure the alignment and integration of the Community Schools strategy with school improvement plans, the district strategic plan and the district comprehensive improvement plan;
Provide oversight and coordination of the KidsCare program;
Support management of community partnerships in elementary schools;
Develop strong relationships with school administration, teachers, parents, and students to improve school success and program cohesion;
Provide oversight and coordination of elementary afterschool programs;
Provide oversight of community schools elementary summer programming;
Support grant-seeking and other fund development activities;
Support early childhood opportunities via the Community Schools strategy;
Participate in capacity building efforts for Community Schools in GCSD, Monroe County, and NYS when appropriate;
Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by immediate supervisor.
