Parts Advisor/Counterman

H.E. McGonigal, part of the Chariot Automotive Group is growing and looking for a motivated, customer-focused Parts Advisor / Counterperson to join our team. This is a great opportunity to build a career with a reputable automotive group that values teamwork, customer service, and internal growth.

Position Overview

As a Parts Advisor, you will be the key link between our service department, technicians, and customers—ensuring the right parts are sourced quickly and accurately to keep vehicles on the road. This role combines customer service, inventory management, and automotive knowledge.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist retail and wholesale customers in identifying and purchasing automotive parts
  • Work closely with service technicians to fulfill repair orders efficiently
  • Look up, order, and track parts using dealership systems
  • Maintain accurate inventory and stock levels
  • Receive, organize, and stock incoming parts orders
  • Provide pricing, availability, and product information in person and over the phone
  • Process returns, warranties, and credits as needed
  • Keep the parts department clean, organized, and customer-ready
  • Upsell related parts and accessories when appropriate

Qualifications
  • Automotive parts experience required (dealership experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of Mopar and GM parts preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn parts catalog systems
