We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges—striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond.  Together, we advance your career.

THE ROLE:

As an Engineering Manager within AMD Product Engineering, you will lead a highly skilled team responsible for delivering robust, highquality system products from new product introduction through highvolume manufacturing. This role sits at the intersection of product development, manufacturing, and quality, and offers the opportunity to influence system-level outcomes that directly impact AMD’s customers. You will collaborate closely with crossfunctional partners across design, manufacturing, test, quality, and external vendors, while shaping test strategies that ensure product robustness, scalability, and execution excellence.

This position is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys developing people, solving complex yield and quality challenges, and driving continuous improvement across a fastpaced, global engineering environment.

THE PERSON:

You are a resultsoriented engineering leader with a strong balance of technical depth and people leadership. You thrive in ambiguous problem spaces, enjoy mentoring and coaching engineers, and are comfortable influencing decisions across organizational boundaries. You communicate clearly with both technical teams and leadership, and you are motivated by delivering highquality products through disciplined processes, datadriven decisions, and collaboration. You value inclusion, accountability, and continuous learning, and you lead by example.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Lead and manage a product engineering team responsible for system test, yield, and quality execution from new product introduction through volume manufacturing.
  • Own cost and yield attainment, driving continuous improvement through data analysis, process optimization, and outlier identification.
  • Define and ensure compliance with test processes, methodologies, and coverage across lab, manufacturing, and customer environments.
  • Guide the design, development, and improvement of product-specific test hardware, software, diagnostics, and automation solutions.
  • Correlate test results across lab, manufacturing, and customer platforms to validate product design, process technology, and manufacturing robustness to product specifications.
  • Influence and champion key technical decisions that impact final product quality, reliability, and cost.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams, leadership, and external partners to align priorities, resolve issues, and meet program milestones.
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for professional individual contributors and skilled support personnel.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, set clear goals and expectations, and foster growth and engagement within the team.
  • Identify talent needs and actively support recruiting and development of a diverse and highperforming organization.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to management and executive stakeholders.
  • Contribute directly to technical problem solving when needed to meet schedules and resolve critical issues.
  • Partner crossfunctionally to support specific projects, programs, or process improvements across the product lifecycle.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience driving yield, quality, and cost improvements in a product or manufacturing environment.
  • Background in semiconductor or complex hardware product development.
  • Experience leading engineering teams and managing technical projects.
  • Handson experience developing or supporting tests, vectors, timing, and diagnostics on Automated Test Equipment.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation using languages such as Perl, Ruby, shell scripting, or similar.
  • Exposure to Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or other structured development methodologies.
  • Experience applying statistical analysis techniques, including population analysis and outlier detection, to drive debugging and decisionmaking.
  • Ability to perform and interpret Pareto analysis to prioritize issues and improvements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across geographically distributed teams.
  • Experience presenting technical and program information to senior and directorlevel leadership.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.
