About the Team
The Analytics Platform team is responsible for Workday Prism Analytics, an industry-leading, comprehensive Data Management and Analytics platform that enables customers to unlock the highest value from their enterprise data and drive the best business outcomes. Our mission is to revolutionize how customers work with and interact with their data - making their experience more collaborative, interactive, and insight-driven.
We are at the forefront of Workday's data strategy, building products that span data integration, data preparation, data quality, and analytics. In the year ahead, the team is focused on Workday Data Cloud, a transformative initiative that will enable zero-copy access of data in the Workday platform, fundamentally changing how enterprise data flows into Workday. We partner closely with engineering, design, data science, and partner product management teams across the organization, giving our team high visibility and broad cross-functional impact. If you are energized by shaping the future of enterprise analytics and helping customers become truly data-driven, this is the team for you.
About the Role
As a Principal Product Manager on the Workday Analytics Platform team, you will lead the product vision and strategy for Data Cloud, Workday's initiative to enable zero-access data inbound on the platform. You will also engage with partner Product Management teams to build a joint product roadmap that delivers a cohesive, end-to-end experience for customers.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Leading the vision and roadmap for Data Cloud and Prism's data integration capabilities, driving alignment and buy-in from key stakeholders across the organization
  • Partnering with design, engineering, data science, and other product managers to evolve Workday's analytics platform, with a focus on delivering intuitive, no-code ETL experiences for data engineers and business analysts
  • Engaging with partner Product Management teams to co-develop a joint product roadmap that ensures cohesion across Workday's broader data and analytics ecosystem
  • Diving deep into customer use cases to understand how they leverage the platform for meaningful insights, and identifying, specifying, and prioritizing features through direct input from customers, analysts, developers, and architects
  • Building domain expertise in data preparation, data management, data warehouses, query engines and feature engineering for data science, and serving as a thought leader in guiding customers toward their best business outcomes through analytics
  • Acting as the Product Owner in one or more scrum teams - setting the vision, writing and prioritizing user stories, grooming the backlog, and communicating progress to stakeholders regularly
  • Serving as the product champion externally by fostering a strong customer community and collaborating with Sales, Presales, Customer Success Management, and Product Marketing
  • Consistently managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment

About You
Basic Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience as a Product Manager delivering high-impact customer outcomes in SaaS, cloud, or enterprise data software environments
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Other Qualifications:
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to generate and apply unique business insights to shape the long-term vision for Data Cloud, including understanding the current business landscape, identifying opportunities, and developing plans that create a sustained advantage for Workday's analytics platform
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with members from different teams - including engineering, design, data science, partner product management, sales, and customer success - to achieve shared goals, leveraging diverse perspectives and fostering a culture of mutual respect
  • Customer Empathy: Deep understanding of customer needs, pain points, and experiences, with a demonstrated ability to listen actively, understand the customer's perspective, and translate those insights into product decisions that improve satisfaction and loyalty
  • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of data platforms, data lakes/warehouses, databases, data integration, ETL technologies, analytics platforms, and related fields such as AI, ML, and cloud computing, including the ability to stay current with industry trends and apply specialized knowledge to Workday's platform
  • Strong understanding of design thinking and the product development process, with the ability to collaborate closely with designers and user researchers to build accessible, user-friendly experiences that prioritize both functionality and usability
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences - from engineering teams discussing SQL-equivalents and machine learning algorithms to executive stakeholders and customers.
  • Ability to get into the technical details with engineers and data scientists when discussing data pipelines, statistical functions, and intelligent features, while keeping the broader product vision and customer value in focus

With Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
