Our growth includes recent acquisitions of Stessa (financial and asset management software), RentPrep (tenant screening and placement service for landlords), and Mynd (property management platform for both Retail and Institutional investors). In 2025, Roofstock took an ownership stake in Casago (short-term rental management services), expanding our platform to support both long-term and short-term rental investment services.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Strategic Finance and Corporate Development Manager to join our growing team. This individual will play a key role in shaping the company's strategic direction, evaluating growth opportunities, and supporting key corporate initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in strategy, finance, and cross-functional collaboration, and thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Strategic Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Market Analysis
    • Support annual and long-term strategic planning efforts in partnership with executive leadership.
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, emerging threats, and growth opportunities.
    • Create business cases and strategic frameworks to assess new markets, products, or business models.
  • Corporate Development & M&A
    • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and executing potential mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and investments.
    • Build financial models and valuation analyses (DCF, precedent transactions, comparable companies).
    • Participate in due diligence, deal structuring, and integration planning across functional teams.
    • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and external advisors to manage transaction executions.
  • Financial Analysis & Performance Tracking
    • Prepare high-quality presentations and reports for executive leadership and board meetings.
    • Analyze KPIs, financial performance, and ROI for strategic initiatives and investments.
    • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to track corporate development metrics and pipeline.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Act as a thought partner to business units on high-impact initiatives (e.g., pricing, expansion, strategic partnerships).
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align corporate development initiatives with business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; CFA or advanced degree a plus.
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, venture capital, or corporate strategy/development.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities; skilled in executive-level presentation development.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business acumen and executive presence
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with strong working knowledge of Google Sheets,
  • Experience with Sigma and strong skills in SQL for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to deal and adapt in an ambiguous fast-paced, start-up environment 
Preferred Qualifications
  • CFA or advanced degree a plus.
  • Experience with M&A transactions or corporate investment processes.
  • Familiarity with business valuation methods and strategic frameworks.
  • Prior experience in a fast-growing start-up or technology-driven company is a plus.

Compensation

$150,000 - $180,000 annual base salary. The compensation range may be adjusted based on experience and location.

Pay Transparency

Our compensation reflects several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position represents the expected salary for this position.  Ultimately, in determining your pay it will be based on several factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and other job related factors.  Roofstock is a total compensation company; the base salary is only a part of our total compensation package.
