Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 is seeking qualified candidates interested in serving as part-time instructional assistants to IU8's World of Learning Institute.
Job Summary:
Instructional assistant support will require the individual to work collaboratively with the Virtual Learning Facilitator (VLF) to assist in providing feedback to learners regarding speaking, reading and writing in the target language and to provide the VLF feedback on student progress
Qualifications:
  1. A Bachelors Degree and/or fluent in one or more world languages read, write and speak in the target language.
  2. Experience with supporting and assisting language learners is recommended.
  3. Must possess current, valid Act 34, Act 115 and Act 151 clearances as well as completed and acceptable Act 168 background checks.
  4. Must have experience in using technology to communicate and provide support to students who are learning a new language within a virtual setting.
  5. Be able to work independently.
  6. Follow-through to completion of assigned tasks and prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  7. Interpret, analyze and problem solve in all areas of assigned responsibilities.
  8. Must be able to converse and interact with individuals with diverse levels of education and abilities.
  9. Must be able to read and understand documents relating to federal, state and local mandates as well as complex documents relating to education.

Working Conditions:
Normal office, presentation room and virtual environment.
