Job description

The Site Supervisor is responsible for interacting with special interest groups, set-up and takedown of special events, and general maintenance of park grounds and buildings. 
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Major Duties/Specific Tasks 

  • Assist in supervising park operations which may include opening and closing of facility, ordering and maintaining supplies, care and use of resources, and handling cash.
  • Monitor of rentals, marina operations, retail sales & events throughout the year.
  • Set-up & takedown of special events.
  • General maintenance of buildings and grounds.
  • Assist in the supervision of part time/seasonal park attendants and rangers, which may include scheduling, training, motivation and control.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate records of money handling transactions.
  • Perform manual labor and routine maintenance as needed.
  • Equipment use, including hand tools, power tools, zero turn mowers and a tractor with a frontend loader.
  • Ensure NOVA Parks safety, business standards, and other standards inherent to the particular operation are being followed.
  • Ability to gain a working knowledge of the site Operation and Management plan.
  • Assist with public relations by greeting park visitors, handling inquiries, and providing information and assistance, and informing patrons of rules and regulations.
  • Interpret NOVA Parks rules and regulations.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Park Manager.
  • Correct and report unsafe conditions to the Park Manager.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Park Manager.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Graduation from high school with one year of business experience or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the staff.
  • Ability to learn the operation of the facility.
  • Knowledge of or ability of obtain NOVA Parks business practices and money handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment and related materials.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to use a calculator and computer.
  • Flexibility and ability to perform all duties of other part-time/seasonal employees as needed.
  • Ability to gain a working knowledge of NOVA Parks, its history, organization, rules and regulations.
  • Availability to work a variable work schedule, which may include early and late hours, and weekends and holidays.
  • Availability to work additional hours during peak operating season.
  • Willingness to learn and perform a new skill.
  • Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain valid driver’s license, must maintain safe driving record.
  • Required to purchase and wear standard uniform.
