Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the delivery of high-quality public art to create a customer-friendly environment that is inviting and secure and that advances the MTA's goal of improving customer experience.
Specifically, the Manager is responsible for providing professional-level project management in planning, implementing, and evaluating multiple projects within the Permanent Art Program. From initial stages of site planning to project completion, in concert with Construction & Development staff and consultants, the Manager serves as coordinator and Arts & Design representative for MTA agency projects (Construction & Development, Metro-North, LIRR, Staten Island Railway, New York City Bus, Bridges and Tunnels). The Manager is skilled in and responsible for one or more of program areas including: art policy stewardship; permanent public art commission and management; architectural review; artwork conservation; records management; new media, app and website content development; and internal and external communications.
