Title: Executive Assistant to the General Counsel

Location: Washington, DC

Salary Range: $100,000 – $112,000

The Opportunity We are seeking a career Executive Assistant with a sophisticated legal background to support the General Counsel in our Washington, DC office. This is not a standard administrative role; it is a high-level partnership requiring the discretion of a legal professional and the technical agility of a modern coordinator. You will act as the "right hand" to legal leadership, managing complex calendars, board-level communications, and sensitive government-related documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal & Executive Liaison: Provide elite-level support to the General Counsel, including drafting, proofreading, and editing complex legal correspondence and board-level documents.

  • Complex Orchestration: Manage high-density Outlook calendars, coordinate intricate domestic/international travel, and develop detailed itineraries.

  • Board & Event Coordination: Lead the logistical planning for Board of Trustees meetings and high-profile organizational events.

  • Technical Trouble-Shooting: Act as a first-line resource for executive technology, including VPN, Zoom, Microsoft 365, and DocuSign.

  • Confidentiality & Compliance: Handle highly sensitive information with absolute discretion, ensuring all tasks align with DoD standards and healthcare regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen capable of obtaining a favorable Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation.

  • Experience: 10+ years of Executive Administrative experience, with at least 5 years specifically supporting a General Counsel or working within a legal office (in-house or government).

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s in Business preferred).

  • Tech Stack: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PPT), Zoom, and DocuSign.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of government programs (TRICARE, VA, Military Health System).

  • Background in a healthcare environment.

  • Prior military service is highly valued.
